Paul Pinto's Patriots

  • James Simon Sculpture Studios 305 Gist Street Pittsburgh, PA, 15219 United States (map)

Paul Pinto and Jeff Young (of thingNY) present their 2011 verbose satire ...Patriots..., a music-theater parody of contemporary politics, with instrumental music, sung and spoken word, humorous subjects and personal critique, fully notated scores and improvised effects.

Traveling with Paul and Jeff, soprano Bonnie Lander performs music by Giacinto Scelsi and Kurt Schwitters' epic symphony for phonetic sounds, Ursonata for solo voice.

Pittsburgh's Dubravka Bencic and friends open the bill with  “To pay Heed” — 5 movements for expansion and improvisation by multiple instruments.
